The Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), in partnership with leading logistics and transport provider 2GO, facilitated the transport of a mobile treatment plant (MTP) to communities ravaged by the recent eruption of Mt. Kanlaon.

Deployed by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) to several barangays in Negros Oriental, MTP is a vital portable water purification system designed to provide clean drinking water to communities suffering from water shortage due to the disaster. This system also helps prevent potential health risks associated with water contamination and inadequate sanitation.

2GO transported the MTP from Manila to Bacolod, ensuring timely arrival for immediate deployment. The company also provided accommodations for personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, enabling them to carry out their relief operations on the ground effectively.

It highlights the importance of effective collaboration, leveraging the resources of both sectors to provide timely and essential support. This is not the first time we responded to Kanlaon and we sincerely appreciate the dedication of 2GO, AFP and OCD for their unwavering commitment and for working alongside PDRF,” PDRF operations center director Arnel Capili says.

2GO is the only integrated solutions provider simultaneously offering both freight and sea travel services from Manila to Bacolod.

Police said in a report that Charlie Rosete, 49, and Marvin Jake Coloma, 23, both farmers, were reportedly killed by Arnel Bielgo.

“We are always ready to go and mobilize our resources to support the men and women of our armed forces as they serve our fellow Filipinos. Providing swift and reliable logistical solutions during times of crisis is part of our unwavering commitment to national service,” says Ethel Concepcion, 2GO head of corporate marketing and communications.
